Play speed and mode

Hi all,

Just wondering what the third number in this screen grab represents?

I have 12 layers playing back simultaneously and this number fluctuates greatly in layers 1-4, but is 25 for layers 5-12. All layers playing the same file, playmode: PLLoopFW

Would this have something to do with the layers falling out of sync?

The third number shows the number of frames per second that layer is playing back.

If the number goes down and you have not slowed the playback speed, then that layer is dropping frames. This maybe to you trying to playback too many layers, using a slow hard drive, or maybe content in the wrong codec

Thanks Nev,

We've got all of the content on an SSD, and it was some of the stock content (002 Digital Aerials 2, 070 Color Circle Explode) playing back on all 12 layers.

Is there anything we can do to optimise playback? Maybe re-encoding the content to a more friendly format?

I would use the built in file convertor to make the content into Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC)

AIC is a better codec to use than PhotoJPG
