Hello Cat people!

I have 2 identical MacPros running same version of Cat. They both have the same graphics cards. Nvidia Quadro 4000.
One is set-up as Main Cat, the other as Spare

I have the Macs running thru a Lightware 8X8 DVI matrix. The outputs are set up as Output 1 is HUD, Output 2 is output to LED wall.

The machines are set up the same with the same exact profile in the Display prefs. "Generic RGB Profile"

For some reason when I route the outputs to the LED wall one of the machines is not nearly as "video black" as the other. I only see this on the screen 2/output 2

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Thanks
Ken

what is dealing with your EDID management?
Check the EDID settings on the Matrix - ensure that they are the same...
Also check that the refresh rates and resolutions are the same

Both (ALL) outputs should be set to Generic RGB Profile in system preferences.

Also check that your mix window settings are the same between servers.

Are both Macs the same generation / OS / software etc
Unusual to get a significant difference between 2 identical setups - but not impossible...

Send a copy of both catalyst PDF profiles if you cant solve it...

The EDID is being handled bY the Lightware 8x8 DVI matrix. Imported to use this method and put all sorts of Parrots or other extra DVI connections.

I will check the EDID settings when I see that rack again next. I am currently leap-frogging 2 identical racks around Asia.

Pretty sure it's not the mix settings as I am using the same Cat settings and show files between all 4 MacPros

Could it be something as simple as a bad DVI cable?

Thanks Again

would expect other issues if it was a bad cable - but worth checking...
