Hello,..

I was trying to sync several catalysts using timecode.

MTC - miditimecode

I was OK, is send Timecode OUT, from Cuelists and from the movie, Layer one, or any other sources.

Also OK, send the time codes and receiving on the HOG with no problems.

NOW... The options to get the TIMECODE IN ( I used before on older versions with no problems)... TIMECODE READER, just does not work.

Using e-mu midi boxes

Any clues ? Thanks

MIDI timecode in DOES work in latest version m364

You need to check your MIDI device drivers and or try another MIDI device.

You can test this by sending the MIDI timcode in to catalyts via the MacOS MIDI IAC Bus and using a MIDI tool like Backline: http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/backline/index.php

However - do consider using SMPTE timecode - as there are more configuration options within catalyst and better ways of syncing files.

Thanks for the tip.

I am using this unit.... No driver, generic one.

In the past they worked just fine.

I can output MTC just fine, but I am not getting the MTC In. I am using m359, since m364 is for Lion right ? Our systems stick on SNOW LEOPARD.

Do you belive m364 is better on SNOW LEOPARD as well ? I do not remember why, but I tryied m364 and did not perform that well on SNOW.

Thanks for the HELP

Really....

m364 (or above) has to be used if you are using Lion
However - m364 (and above) will also work with Snow Leopard.
The performance on a MacPro should be the same with either version - so long as you are using an Nvidia graphics card.
We run Snow Leopard still on our MacPros with m364 and get very good performance with an SSD and Quadro4000. (content dependant)

I will update our systems ASAP to m364.

We have several Cats here.

Some with Nvidea GTX 285 and some with Nvidea Quadro4000

we still have couple of old units with GT 8800 ( they work fine for some gigs.

All with OCZ SSD drives

Anyway -- Thanks for your share
