Mix Select?

Hello guys, Im trying to wrap my head around the whole Mix Select option. I see on consoles theres another profile you can patch, a Mix Select profile. Does this mean I can set up several mixes within Catalyst and then toggle the appropriate mix at the right time from the lighting console? I have never used it before but can see where it could come in handy. Could someone maybe explain it a little bit better for me? Im poking around at it right now but would like to fully understand it. Thanks for any help.

sort of....basically you can choose what mix each layer is assigned to via the lighting console....turn them on and off and such

I think I get it. So, does this mean I can make the mixes on the Catalyst and instead of assigning the layers to the mix within the Catalyst I can just do it from the lighting console?
