Catalyst not saving Remote Setting

Hi,

I am having some trouble getting catalyst to remember its Remote settings.

Whenever I open catalyst I am having to reset the remote listen setting on the layers HUD. It wont save them either when clicking on the "save remote setting" or by manually "save all preferences now".

Anyone had this happen to them before?

This mac is meant to be for an installation so i wont be able to just click it every day for 6 months...

Im running 365 on a Mac Pro 5_1 with OS X 10.6.4. 329 kept crashing the core_midi when quitting.

Just tested this and got it working on m364

I think you have to ensure that the remote Catalyst App (master) is running and broadcasting BEFORE you startup the local Catalyst App (slave) - otherwise it looks as if it hasn't saved the settings.

What is your startup order?

It needs to be:
1) remote Catalyst broadcasting all info
then
2) local Catalyst which will be slaved to Remote Catalyst (the Mac with the remote settings saved)

BEWARE - if you startup in the reverse order - you will have to re-select the remote Catalyst AGAIN from the local Catalyst remote server list.

it is usually very stable...
what MIDI devices are you using?
check you MIDI settings in Utilities

Also check permissions of the folder you are using for the application and ensure that you have read & wrtie access...

Its a very common issue when copying show folders from other macs that the permissions are different and catalyst can't write back to the folder (ie save settings on quit)
Usually creating a new folder and copying the files in to it solves the issue...
