Ram Usage

Im currently using the Lion version of Cat.
Was just told, that catalyst will only access 2gig worth of ram on the machine, no matter how much there may be.
I was always told to beef up on ram in the system... why my machines both have 24g...

So... are 22 of it to pot?

Catalyst uses very little RAM as most of the work is done on the graphics card / processors.
