Hiya,

We have two cat machines, which need to run synch. Only problem is the 150m of water between them.

We're probably sinking a network cable on the bottom of the river, but a wireless backup would be nice.

Anyone has a suggestion for a wireless backup?

Thanks Michel

I've never used these for Catalyst sync, but have used them to link remote sites for basic networking and they work quite well.

Failing that, chuck a couple of Optical cables in the river and use some switches and SFP modules!

I would have a look at faster radios.

For a lower budget:

for a higher budget:

5ghz is better then 2.4ghz. 900 is great if you wanted to license it. Both will get you about 100mbps.

I am not entirely sure what the framesync consumes. Of course remember that packets will be slightly delayed going over wireless. Fiber would be the best way to ensure near zero latency between the two locations.
