I know this has been discussed on here, but I wash wondering if anyone had any new information about this issue.

I have a Phoenix card that won't initialize. Catalyst gives me an error when turning on the card in video inputs. See the attached image.

This was happening to me on an older machine. I assumed it was a bad Phoenix card, so I replaced it (I wasn't getting the error and then it suddenly started appearing). I just got a brand new machine as well. It's an early 2009 mac pro.

A few things I know:
-I have double checked that the OS is running in 32 bit mode
-The Phoenix card is loaded in slot 3
-After moving the card to slot 3, I reinstalled drivers
-I have updated drivers
-I sent a system profile to Active Silicon this afternoon.

Anyone got any other things I can try?

Thanks

hi, i have the same problem with phoenix when using 2 capture cards (macpro 4.1 osx10.6.8) - phoenix in slot 3 and blackmagic hd extreme in slot 4, when i pull blackmagic everything is ok... now i use phoenix and blackmagic intensity pro at the same time and it`s ok...

remove card
reset PRAM (Apple+Option+P+R at boot)
check running 32 bit
shudown
re-install card
try downloading the driver again from the AS website and re-install
try enabling again with a blank catalyst show

if it doesn't work - move to another slot
(no need to re-install driver)

let me know what happens... on both your macs...
does it work in another mac?

If still not working - contact Active Silicon Directly - might be a dead card?

Active Silicon phoenix Support:
phoenix.support@activesilicon.com

send them your a system profile (not catalyst system profile)
Open system profile via apple menu and about / more info - save as XML / SPX

Thanks for the information. I will try those things tomorrow.

I have contacted Active Silicon. They say everything should work. They have not given me a firmware upgrade option. I have two cards. I know one of them needs repair. The second card works in an older macro (first gen intel), but won't work in the new one (4,1).

Only PE1 cards mat need firmware upgrades - PE4 do not

What are the codes on the back if your cards?
