Auto fader

I'm just building our MA2 fixture and stumbled upon play mode 51 Auto fader listed between 9 and 10 in the playmode list. Can someone quickly tell me what it does as it is not self-evident and term does not bring up any results on the forums.

I also can not understand what this mode. But I think it is associated with the effect of Auto fade? Can someone tell how it works?

I seem to remember it being a way to automatically fade through a folder of images. Try and search the forums as I think it was a request someone made to Mr. Bleasdale.
