So it is here, we have a show. Just need to figure how to start playing back video on catalyst.

I hate doing this, but....

been using the hippo in beta testing to run the clips.
We created a pixel accurate checkered board grid. White spaces cover the left eye black spaces cover the right eye. We play back to layers of clips and send one layer to white spaces and the other layer to the black spaces.

Any ideas on how to do this in Catalyst?

Could you post a bit more information?
diagram or screen shot maybe?

It partially depends on your source material and partially on your display medium.
Is your source "natively" 3D already or are you looking for a way to "upconvert" existing content to 3D?
Are you displaying said content on a true 3D display or are you using two projection sources to create the image?

There are a number of different methods of filming 3D - and hence a number of different methods of playback.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3-D_film

Which method are you trying to use?

It sounds like you have 2 movies - and are trying to get the server to act as a shutter for L & R?

what projector or screen are you using?
what glasses?

I have been testing several scenarios of 3D Playback both with LED and Projection. Please email me if you are interested in more information.

Hello dear SourceChild.
I'm writing this message because you've mentioned you've tried some methods of delivering 3D video playback.
I want to work with passive 3D technology:
polarization "silver" screen
polarization filter glasses
several projectors
Catalyst Pro media-serever

The main question is how to playback 3D video content via Catalyst?
The video must be preparred already or we can use 2 videos and make 3D in realtime?

Best regards,
Stas

The simplest way to do this is to create left and right movies to run on 2 outputs. Sync 2nd to first.

Another way is to create a movie twice the width with left half the left and right half the right. With new Mac Pros and solid SSDs, 3840x1080 (2 1920x1080) sized content runs fine. Set mix one with a left offset for the layers and mix 2 to a right offset for the layers.

Another trick but requires good network is to create all of your left pieces and right pieces with the same file numbers. On Left machine point to the folder for left. On right machine point to the folder for right. Now run the second machine as a remote of the first. The beauty of this method is that you program only one machine but the media is running from two.
