hi,

i'm wondering if any catalysts users have managed to get a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card working with Catalyst?

At the moment, I'm not even sure the Blackmagic card is working properly (it says it is) but selecting inputs on it in catalyst seems to cuase catalyst to crash.

This is a OSX, and Catalyst - both clean installs, current versions. There is an LFG4 card in the Mac Pro 64 bit.

Any advice much apprecciated, I am trying to verify the BM card is working using the supplied software and also contacting their support team.

Thanks

I have one in my Mac Pro (not really a show computer at the moment, only when I need it) but with 10.6.4 and it works fine using HDMI input. Can really only do 720p on it though. It did give me issues using 1080i.

In theory - you should be able to use 2x intensity PRO cards with current decklink drivers...

However - due to issues with quicktime video input - this may not be the case:
You should also run your 64bit MacPro in 32bit mode for the moment...

i'm got as far as it not crashing catalyst any more, although i can't seem to get an input...

here's my next question: do the blackmagic settings in system prefs have any effect on what appears in catalyst inputs or are the two independent?

and can you suggest settings that should work for an hdmi input? (i've tried a dvd player, and a kramer scaler so far)

thanks again for your help...

i'm making progress.. i have an input signal at 1080p 50hz.. (i had to edit the kramer settings using a dedicated monitor and match the hdmi output settings to the catalyst/blackmagic input settings, running 32 bit)

i'm still wondering about the blackmagic input settings and whether they affect the input pre-catalyst. i am guessing they do, although i'm not sure they'd ever be needed.

i'll post an answer if i ever figure it out...

thanks

The system prefs control panel settings do have a bearing on what you can capture. But you don't have to specify resolutions on the control panel - just signal formats etc.

Change the control panel settings as required first - BEFORE opening catalyst

Then you should be able to select resolutions in catalyst input control HUD

I think theres an issue with 720p in m257 [ no there isnt - samsc ] - but PAL/NTSC and 1080i should work.

Note that Intensity PRO only supports 1080i not 1080p [ this is an hdmi edid thing they have to talk to each other - samsc ]

Dont change system prefs blackmagic settings while catalyst is open.
