Hi,

Catalyst everytime crashes when I want to setup the videoinput.
I´m useing a Blackmagic Intensity Pro to capture Componet material.

I tryed different softwareversion (m119; m257; m286), evrytime the same crash.

Does anybody know the problem of crashing Catalyst at this time?

Can you give me a suggestion to solve this bug?

My next show is this Friday, so its a litte urgent!

Thanks in advance.
Felix

What version of OS are you using?
What MacPro spec? and year?
What other cards do you have installed?
Is this an existing show - or are you starting from blank?
What drivers are you using for the Decklink Card?
Does the Deklink card work with supplied software outside of catalyst?

Check your drivers and test the Decklink card with supplied software
I would suggest try starting from blank catalyst show to see what happens

Hi,

I use the latest mac pro 8-core. It's totally new.
I run mac osx snow leopard 10.6.2..

I have only installed the blackmagic intensity pro (it's a different card from decklink)
With the software that belong to the card it works, only catalyst crash when using the card.

If i start a new show I have the same problem.

I run the latest driver version for the blackmagic, it's 3.5.2..

Do you ave any other suggestion for me how to solve this problem?

Thank You!

One more thing.

If I uninstall the driver and software of Blackmagic (with supplied unistall software) the system profiler will nevertheless show the card with drivers installed- yes.

Maybe if I use the unistall software the drivers will not be unistalled completely?

Can I delete the drivers completly in any folder?

Thank You in advance.

Hi,

I tryed everything you told me.

Just now I have downdate my Os to Mac OSX 10.6.0..

But the Catalyst also crash now, when I want to use the videoinput - same problem as in 10.6.2..

If I start a new show I can see the videoinput of Blackmagic for about 5 seconds, after this time Catalyst will crash.

I tryed different driver versions for the Blackmagic, but everytime the same crash of Catalyst.

I also tryed the software you told me to use.
But also this software crash.

In the supplied software of Blackmagic it works save, no problems.

On my Macbook Pro with 10.6.2. and iSight Camera Catalyst don´t crash after choosing the iSight videoinput.
Also the "Bride of Mung Grab" show the videoinput without crashing.

Do you have any other suggestions for me, how to solve the problem.

Thanks for your help!

If you have access to Leopard install disc - I would suggest installing a fresh version of Leopard 10.5.x on a 2nd hard drive and running catalyst an older version of MAC OS than Snow Leopard.

Test the Blackmagic card on the older version of OS before performing ANY updates.

I have a 2009 MacPro running 10.5.8 (with all online updates) with Quicktime 764. - There seems to be no problems with the Intensity Pro card crashing Catalyst version m257 with that particular software setup.

i dont believe it has anything to do with decklink drivers-

as the crash is an apple crash- it crashes with firewire and webcams.

technically it looks like a data structure not being initialised correctly- used by quicktime video digitisers-

it also looks like not all video digitising software uses this particular thing-
so not all crashes - and not all crashes all the time-

it crashes here inside quicktime - maybe someone messed up 32/64 bit memory pointer - passed a 64bit memory pointer to getpixbounds which is probably 32bit

same crash in bride of mung - same place
