I would LOVE this to be in LA.. That would be perfect!

I also wouldn't mind going to Holland, but the plane tickets were 4 grand just to get there. A little much..

if you can get to london - there are cheap flights to rotterdam from london city on cityjet.com

its only 200$ dollars return from LCY to RTM

best train planning site in europe in bahn.de

I just quickly looked on orbitz.com. LAX>RTM. Way too many stops and says the flights were $4895. (I know I could go other routes, but getting to RTM was my main concern because it doesn't seem like there is a good route from LAX to there) I didn't think of the trains though.

Just to get from LAX to LHR is around a grand. More if I went to LCY. I can get to AMS for a little over a grand. Plus hotels, travel, food and all that jazz.

Would the information I would get out of going to something like this be worth spending the money? I wish I could get someone to send me, but unfortunately I am all on my own.

not best to fly to RTM outside europe its a small airport-
you fly to amsterdam and take the train-

LAX-AMS comes up as between 800$ and 1000$ return with 1 stop on orbitz

-

RTM is a small airport with commuter type connections-
from london city airport there is a good service-

LAX-LHR is cheaper with many direct flights- 700$-900$ non-stop return-
staying overnight then going overland to LCY then into RTM is one option
there are lots of cheap direct flights from LHR-AMS

-

its a long way.... from LAX
I would hope its going to be useful to someone - its totally practical - concerns some of the issues we have - and some of the problems we have to solve-

Is the class like the one we were talking about doing back when I first came to the UK? I'd love to do something like that...

this isnt really a class -

more an examination of practical problems-

Im trying to do something which isnt just technical- not all about equipment-

but is about the use of equipment to get a specific visual acceptable creative result-

and the only way to do that is to make some material-

the fastest way to make material is to do a shoot- using post-production tools like after effects takes far too long -

shooting stuff you get an immediate feedback as to whether some idea looks good or not-

i like to do most of my effects in camera-

Richard,

What resources would you need (or like) and would you like to do the same or similar workshop in Dallas, TX?

I have plenty of Rendering Macs. I'll make some calls to see about a camera. I'd also be up for making some 4k content in Maya to shoot on to some curved surfaces.

I'm up for comments or feedback from anyone.

Target date around June 1st?
