Simply saving as a PNG won't get you the desired results....you have to create transparency within the PNG before you save it (no background).

What program are you using to create the PNG?

As an alternative you can use the "Transparent Black" or "Transparent White" Color Effects on your Layer to create transparency that way.

Hope this helps. :)

I try this http://chaldee1.gotadsl.co.uk/~richardb/upload/showthread.php?t=277&highlight=mask+mark

but when I key the black - i have the problem that it will key the input too.

I look for a solution - :
Layer 1: Background
Layer 2: Liveinput
Layer 3: Mask for liveinput

or

Mix 1
Layer 1: Background
Layer 2: Mix 2

Mix 2:
Layer1: Liveinput
Layer2: Mask

hope you understand me.

Not too sure what you're doing here, but if you apply the Transparent Blacks Colour FX to the only the "Mask" layer it should not affect the Live Input layer at all.

Or build a proper PNG file that has transparency in it.

Hope this helps. :)

I believe I understand what you are asking. The only way to have a specifically masked video input or a specific mask of content over a background is to create an object in a 3D program which is a 2D surface which has all the areas you want invisible deleted from the object. Render this object and put it in the object folder of the Catalyst and call it up in the VFX. Once you do this, you can run it with your content assigned to it so that all the invisible parts are simple gone because they do not exist in the object.

Does this make sense?

thanks SourceChild

I work well but one question can I scale the mask without the content ?
