Hi,

Is there a big difference between a kramer vp501xl and a folsom in image quality? And will dvi improve the quality dramaticly instead of vga?

Thanks!

Folsom are the top of the range as far as I'm concerned. Any issues I have had in the past have been resolved by using a Folsom. Worth the money if you can afford it in my opinion.

Next best - and just as good at half the price is the TV One Range.

Either the CS7200: 2 image Pros in One at the same price as 1
or
the CS2355 - 5 input, single channel scan converter with HD-SDI.

Only slight disappointment is no loop thru on DVI or VGA - so you have to use a DA

TV One are certainly a good choice, although my ownership of the 7200's has not been without issues.

Ive oly had one issue with heat... and the unit shut down automatically, but it only does this with a 5 min warning and at 50deg +

Would be interested in hearing any other problems you've had

Cheers

Main problems I have had are on some firmware versions on where issues with (what has turned out to be) poor or damaged cables with bad earthing have caused the video output encoder to fail.

In their deffence they have provided exceptionally good tech support, demo units and s/w updates, all of which has kept me with the company.

TV One are about to release the CS-2355-A.
http://www.tvone.co.uk/c2-2300a-keyfeatures.shtml

Its an upgrade to the 2355 It now supports 1920x1600 on the DVI input and 2048x2048 on the analogue input. Best of all it now has HD-SDI output - and input...
