A new artnet box from enttec

The ODE is a truly plug?n?play Art-Net node. There are no dipswitches,
thumb wheels or other fiddly settings to worry about. By default, it is
set to output the first DMX Universe via Art-Net (Sub-net 0, Universe
0), making it easily compatible with a wide range of PC-based Lighting
Controllers and Ethernet-enabled Lighting Consoles straight out of the box.

The software Entec use (NMU) to setup the box for input / output etc only seems to work with windows! (on the windows partition of my macbook pro) . With the mac version, the mac doesn't seem to be able to detect the node. Once setup for input the box seems to work well, though i did get a wierd offset of 1 in the dmx chain which meant i had to set catalyst start address at 2, 42 , 82 and so on, artnet is set to 0,0 , maybe i'm doing something stupid here but haven't changed the settings on either catalyst or the entec box other than to input rather than output.

The offset problem is known problem in an old version of the firmware with some DMX sources.
If you upgrade the problem will be solved.

And about your Mac book problem, not sure what is going one we have a number of MAC users and we test every release on our mac here !

buit-in to what the ODE ?

The ODE supports NMU and the full Artnet config packets so any compatible Artnet controller will allow you to configure it.

I was asking Samsc if it's possible to configure the box from catalyst it self without using any external software.

The new box looks cool. I have been using DMX Ethergate MK2s for all of my Catalyst machines because I use more than 1 universe for each.

I actually like this box though because 99% of the time, this is exactly what I need. Since several of my clients had DV Catalysts licenses though. A single universe box is perfect for them and I can get my MK2s back. Yay!:)
