Customer wants to add a decklink to our existing LFG system. Ideally we would use them together.

I was reading some older posts and someone said that they had both cards running together.

Is there any reason to think that this won't work.

Thanks,
Chris Lighthall

Chris,

I have this Setup working without any trouble.
01 x LFG44
01 x Decklink SDI in

Everything on a the same Macpro like yours still running on Tiger, though I haven't tested the drivers on Leopard, but can't see why it should interfere there

Rolf,

I am still with Tiger as well. Which model of Decklink card are you using?

I am fine with the minimal frame dropping from the LFG, but how does the Decklink perform.

Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris,

I'm not in Front of my Catalyst, but If I remind right it's the Decklink Extreme (not the Intensity and not the HD Version)

And there is nearly no visible Latency.

Frame Dropping appears only when Workload is too high for the Macpro.

A funny thing I encountered was a "Chase" of Stills over 6 Mixes with just 6 Layhers, means the Images switched to next Image in the Library and Live Video did a Fader over some screens on and off.
In the Moment of switching to the next Image the Live Video had Framedrops.
I stopped the Image Chase and no more Frame Dropping appeared.

that will be due to the new movie/image loading up.

its best to convert stills to a movie, its much faster to load.

to have no dropframes,
Is important use TRIGGER INTENSITY to run Layer in the programmation,
in this way you have movie stop when the dimmer is at "00" and start automatically when the dimming go up.

with multiple live input sometimes is good not use any submixes preview or
lybrary window open or preset preview in the HUD,this help to have no dropframes in the live input.

I can confirm,
LFG4 + DECKLINK EXTREME HD working fine in a MAC PRO 4/8 cpu's with TIGER installed.

roberto is right-
to make video input work best - you have to do much less with movies.

but i think the problem here is that the screens are running at 60Hz - and they use triple head and apple cinema display.
