Has anyone used a Canon XL-h1 camera and the HD-SDI output to a Blackmagic HD extreme card?

is the affordable, lightweight HD camcorder you've been waiting for.

Its superior Canon optics and exceptional image processing give you a brilliant HD image. The XL H1 also features uncompressed HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) and SD-SDI (SMPTE 259M) output, as well as Genlock input and SMPTE time code input and output for multi-camera shoots. And, with its customizable open-architecture approach, selectable frame rates including 24F, and multiple output options, you've got exactly the right tool -- every time.

it's remotely affordable...I've found it for around US$7000...I'm going to rent/demo one from a local supplier and try it out.

i have a sony v1p-

it has progressive scan at 25/30 fps - so no deinterlacing required-

i can use a hdmi cable to plug the camera directly into a decklink intensity card and get 1080p input with low latency-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

latency seems much better with decklink intensity hdmi rather than decklink extreme etc. i think decklink updated their drivers for this card- they seem to work much better.
