This device works like a triple head but has 4 outputs.

Datapath VQS-01 is a display wall controller which connects to the VGA output of any PC and displays the image across 4 displays. Each display shows 1/4 of the VGA image in a 2 x 2 format

Not tested by me.

Has anyone on here had any actual experience with these devices. I need four outputs for a show and this looks to be a good solution but i have heard some bad things about reliability, but i am not sure how reliable the reports are?

Anyone got any opinions?

Cheers

they dont support many useful resolutions.

i have one if you want to borrow it to test.

Hmm, that could be a problem, do you know specifically what modes are supported. I would be looking for 4x 1024x768 at 50/75hz, would this be possible?

I might take you up on that offer of a loan unit as they seem to be rather expensive, especially in comparison to the THTG units!!

Cheers

Ah ok, i was just taking that from the 2048x1536 output setting in the mix settings in Catalyst?

Hiya

Has anyone tried a Triplehead and Dualhead on the same machine? That would give you four outputs plus one preview.

I've had a DH2G-D and TH2G-D working on a 2007 3G 8Core MacPro (Tiger) with X1900XT last December. Only managed to get 800x600@60Hz on each output.

Last week has 2 x TH2G-D working on a 2007 3G 8Core MacPro (Tiger) with X1900XT. Again managed to get 800x600@60Hz on each output

Had a 2007 2.66G 4Core MacPro (tiger) with 1 x TH2G-D running yesterday with resolutions available up to 1280x1048 on each output

Larger resolutions were not available to be selected in each scenario.

Always test DH2G and TH2G before planning your gig!!!!! not everyone gets the same results!!!!

To do 1024x768 or 1280x1024 on 2 TH2G boxes, you'll need to use the Geforce 8800 on an 08 Mac or the quatro FX in 07/08. Those are the only two cards which will drive 6 screens. I still strongly suggest you use the x1900 as opposed to the 8800.

The best way to do 4 outputs is to use 2 DualHead2Go.
You can also use 2 TripleHead2Go if you use the Digital version and simply turn off the 3rd output. This is what I do to get 4 screens so that each output gets identical scan rate and resolution.

This works perfectly for me every time on X1900s.

Granted, you'll have no preview but 4 solid outputs.

I guess in this setup i can program the presets from the HUD on output 1 of the second THTG and then create the cuelist and trigger from a second computer (mac mini) so i don not have to turn off fullscreen to program the cue list, which would be rather rubbish!!

I've used these, they're okish but it really depends on what you're doing with them, I seem to recall they dont support many useful resolutions at useful refresh rates.
