recommended is having vnc setup so that when you break your monitor display with incompatible settings you can go back...

that is just the cable -

you have to get the right dvi format for the intensity card to work- it needs to be 720p or 1080i.
thats what you need the software for- only configuringdvi output from computer to do this isnt trivial.

dvi cables are one of the great mysteries of the universe.

learn to accept that the expensive gold dvi cable you just bought, does not work. doesnt give you any picture. does not like talking.

BTW isn't OSX recognize every source it's connected to it ?

Make sure you run ARD and Remote access , or what I suggest is to make a nice clean new OSX installation in one of your zilion HD and try that .

today i did manage to get my mac to output 1920x1080@60hz into an imagepro hd.
i didnt have to play with anything - it seems that this resolution was indicated as possible by image pro.
so doing this is possible - with the intensity card its the 1080p 1080i which was the problem when we tried earlier in the year.

my monitor managed to display this - even though its 1920x1200
